The Foreign Extra was originally brewed for “tropical” markets and was often accentuated by fruity esters. This can be achieved by placing the fermentor in a warm place, or perhaps with a BrewBelt. Drinking much like a scaled-down Imperial Stout, our Foreign Extra packs the same great taste without the high alcohol. This recipe took second place at a mixed Stout table and was the highest ranked Foreign Extra at War of the Worts XVII. Due to the high gravity, time for aging is recommended.
Our kits provide a tried-and-true recipe, ingredients, and brief directions for making 5 gallons of great beer.
